pink progress picture

Picture courtesy of work's digital camera to show you where I'm up to. Last night I separated the sleeves from the body and now I'm got about 40 straight rows to do before the waist shaping. This pic shows my favourite bit, the double cable running down the back.

Wow - that looks amazing!! Well done so far! How does the top-down thing feel to work? I've wondered about using it because of the number of times I've screwed up sleeve shapings when I've tried to design my own...

It's certainly pink. I like the pretty pattern bits - I'm guessing they're the cable bits. As you know I'm not really up on the whole technical terms of knitting thing.

I like the way top-down raglans work. The main hurdle is the truly enormous rows at the point where you're just about to split the sleeves from the body. Having said that, this will be the first top-down raglan garment I've made that has a body as well as sleeves. I've made a few one-skein wonders though. There is something very satisfying about the ease with which the paired increases shape the sleeve caps.
