August Knitting/Crocheting

Don't know about you but I'm glad to have proper knitting/crocheting weather back!

Here are the dates for our August meetings (NB note that the meeting at the Cambridge Blue is on the fifth Tuesday, rather than the fourth):

Tue 8 Aug, 7-9pm, Granta Bar, ground floor University Centre, Granta Place off Mill Lane

Sat 12 Aug, 2-4pm, Grads Cafe, top floor, University Centre, Granta Place, off Mill Lane

Tue 29, 7-9pm, Cambridge Blue, Gwydir St, (Off Mill Rd)

Everyone welcome, but please note that Granta Bar isn't suitable for anyone under 18 (because of its licence, not because of any exciting entertainment of an adult nature...apart from the knitting/crochet that is...)

are there any crocheters going to these meets who would be able to spend a bit of time helping me out - i am trying to learn to crochet and think i have the basics but its difficult to tell just with books. I'll buy anyone willing to help a drink.

bagpuss - I've only been crocheting for 4 months (the first of which was spent struggling with books/websites and mostly getting the wrong end of the stick ... or should I say hook?), but am happy to try and help! I will be at this Tuesday's meet.

Thank you very much. We are now at the mercy of the great british postal serveice as the hooks and yarn i ordered (on 1st august) have yet to arrive (even though sent 1st class). This is now the second parcel in as many months to have gone walkabout. They company sent out areplacment for the first, and this company are happy to if it is still a no show by wednesday, but Royal Mail will be getting a complaint letter as i onyl use a few on-line stores and at this rate they are gonna start thinking i'm scamming them.

I'm always stunned by how quickly stuff arrives from the States vs. its often interminabe journey to my door from elsewhere in the UK.

I won't be at any more of the KTogs for a while, so I believe that makes Rosie the lone crocheteress!
